Fresh Air

Something about the ocean, the breeze, and the sand that's so relaxing.
The girls loved the ocean!

We fed the birds.

 We got dirty.

We looked for crabs in the dark.

We got in the water.

We went out to eat and admired the boats.

We took a pic in front of Phillip & Meghan's beach house, where we comfortably stayed.

We made new friends.

We had Grandma Tricia and Papa Jaime helping watch, chase after, and play with the girls.

Scarlett took off running...All the way to the pier....

We drove straight to the beach when we first arrived so that the girls could see the ocean before dark.  They were so excited!  Here is a short clip of their initial reaction.  They were running all over the place and by the end of it everybody's clothes were wet.

We took lots of pictures. We laughed a lot.  We celebrated my birthday.  David and I got to eat a nice dinner sans kids. It was really a great escape. We had lots of fun and made a ton of wonderful memories.

Another week

It was real busy but we managed to squeeze some fun in.. I'm really looking forward to some carefree days of summer with our September getaway next week!! Then back to our school, work, appointments, and being locked into a schedule. Sigh.

Throwing rocks into the river...Check out the muddy fingers......

Not sure what was going on in Caroline's head... But, I like to think she was taking it all in.. The water level may have been really low, the water a little stagnant, and there may not have been any ducks. But for her it was perfect.

We left with 2 of the 3 crying because they wanted to stay.  I'm glad they had a good time doing something so simple.

We also met up with some good friends at the park on Friday evening.  I was so happy to see some of my good mommy friends.  It's as close to a girls' night out as I'm going to get.
These girls have been friends since before they could walk.  Such sweet friends.

Hiding from bears.

We checked out a bunch of books at the library.  The girls wish that Mr. Bob would have story time when ever we go..
...And we worked hard on our drive way chalk art...

Fall fever

We went to our local Whole Foods and this is what we found.

Pumpkins in all different sizes and shapes (and bumpy ones too, as Scar says).

I got so excited when I saw this cute little bench.  Too bad the girls' didn't share my enthusiasm.
Maybe I'll get my picture at the pumpkin patch this year (fingers crossed).
We did a whole lot of nothing this weekend.  We had a neighborhood power outage that lasted more than 12 hours Friday into Saturday morning. That led to all 5 of us sharing a bed Friday night (yikes)!
After some convincing, Scarlett let me cut a few sunflowers from the garden.  She gave me her approval once we had them in vase with water on the mantel.
The picture above was not posed. My girls don't do well when I try to arrange them for a photo.  But, I wish I could capture some of the magic between the three. Their bond is quiet but sure.
C & M were having a blast twirling each other around holding hands.  Excuse my blurry attempts of capturing the moment.
The desserts were a bit distracting at La Madeleines.

Caroline takes her coloring very seriously.
I'm loving my Scentsy fall scents.  Right now I've got Clove and Cinnamon bar burning.
