Fancy Pants

When Val moved, I started following Bella Jewel Photography on facebook hoping for a mini session that would work for us.  There was a post about needing 2 year old twins for a commercial shoot.  So, I jumped at the chance for some FREE photos!  The girls got to model clothes from Glam R Baby.  They had fun even if I woke them up for an early shoot the day after we got back from Colorado.  =)

The outfits were fun and over the top.  They were prepared to be fancy like Fancy Nancy.
Caroline in blue.
A little shy at first but they really opened up. Of course, Jeanine was really laid back and easy to work with.
Love this same one in black and white.

1-2-3 Jump!

So fun. Looking forward to our mini session tomorrow which was completely last minute.  I'm one of those moms that loves a million pictures of her kids and shares them.  =)

Five

Scarlett will be five tomorrow.  That is crazy.  She is growing up so fast.

We celebrated at the science center near our house.
I remember taking Scarlett to the science center when she was just 2.  It being so close to the house we would go often.  She remembers having picnics there with Yaya while I was on hospital bedrest.

Digging into the party favors.
She liked the idea of a rainbow cake.  Melanie, a friend and coworker,  had never actually made one before.
It was a pretty darn cute cake and delicious!
Misty led an animal exploration which the kids loved.  They got to learn about reptiles and amphibians.  They all got to touch the animals.
All the smiley pics came out blurry.  Bad lighting and too much movement.  But the kids were having fun!
A snake!

Then they were off to catch fish from the pond.

One of her sweet friends came straight from a dance recital and brought Scarlett a rose.
Having fun with Uncle Sergio.

 Now she's five.
She's also kind... she's funny...she gives me hugs... she loves crafts, painting, and collecting treasures.

I love her. =)
Happy birthday, Scarlett!

Colorado Road Trip

We stayed in a cabin in Lake City.  The girls' loved it!  It was right before their peak season started so it was pretty much all to ourselves.
In their pajamas on our last day.
The view from the front of our cabin.
The girls' would go back and forth between the grandparents cabin and ours.
They spent almost their whole day outdoors.  Heat was not an issue!

There was some marshmallow roasting.
Loved the cool mornings and cold nights.  The lake with it's surrounding mountains was breathtaking.

They loved the creeks and rivers and didn't mind getting their feet wet. The water was freezing cold!
Our little dare devil.  Had to hold her back from getting in.

She was determined to climb no matter how steep.  There was some major pouting when she was asked to stop.
Maddy checking out the river below.
Tired little girl.
Fresh drinking water anyone?

Did I mention how much we enjoyed David's parents? I don't think they had a single night to their selves as there was always one or two of the kiddos sleeping in their cabin!
