Thanksgiving '11

David's Aunt, Becky, hosted a big Thanksgiving lunch.

We didn't know that she had horses, mules, lots of dogs, and a pool.  The girls were in heaven.
I loved how Maddy referred to the white ones as "unicorns".
Someone got a few surprise kisses.
Sweet family moments were had.
We baked cookies.
Scarlett's leaf banner.  She wrote what she was thankful for on each leaf.

Another fabulous Thanksgiving meal at Grandma Tricia and Papa Jamie's house.
Fun at the park.

A taste of Fall

It might be 80 degrees outside but we found "Fall" in our backyard.
I attempted to pick up the patio but my helpers had something else in mind.
We took down the baby swing a while back.  When I asked Scar why she wanted to keep the swing, she told me all about her plans for when it snows.  Check out her demonstration below.
It was a slow and relaxing weekend.
We had our Christmas pictures taken and I can't wait until I get them in the mail!
Scar said it was a perfect time to do a craft.  So we'll work on a Thanksgiving craft this week and we'll take it to our dinner next week.   Paper turkeys for each dinner chair?  Or a banner?
So excited about the holidays.  Can't wait to see my brother and family from Boston.  Really looking forward to staying home and slowing down.

Pow Wow

Parents were invited to watch their 4 year old's celebrate Native Americans.   Scar was so excited that morning!
Her name was Sunflower.  But at home she calls herself "Tall Mountain"

Halloween

Our night involved good conversation with friends, a nice dinner, and happy kids dressed up and ready to take on the neighborhood.

Caroline and Madeline were a little sick and did not want to dress up.  Aunt Vanessa had bought them these super cute unicorn costumes to go along with the fairytale theme.

We played around in our costumes when we first got them.  It was getting dark when I took some of these so they're not all real clear.

So C and M sat in the wagon while we trick or treated.  But they couldn't resist and wanted to join the big kids.  Which leads me to their owl capes.
These were the original halloween costume idea.  Scarlett even has one.  I ordered these back in August but the seller was having health issues and we didn't think we'd get them in time.  Surprise, they made it! After we panicked and bought new costumes.  =)

I brought these owl costumes along Halloween night just in case the girls changed their minds and wanted to trick or treat.  And they did for a little bit.

Then we had our picture taken at a random house where a lady had a background set up in her living room.  Behold the spooky, creepy, and haunted picture.
